I watch the clock. 10:58 p.m. on a Friday night. Now, it’s 10:59. One minute closer to death.

The “Millennial League”, the 21 to 35-year old group that supports AIDS Walk Kansas City, had their major fund-raiser tonight, Valloween. Costumes, models in cherub underwear & wings, you get the picture.

I made a jacket, painted with a bleeding heart and embedded with pieces of rhinestones on the back, and felt like the sh*t, you know?

That was until a friend, in his late 20’s, told me that I was like the really cool drama teacher in high school. “You know, the one the kids all really wanted to hang around?”

When you reach 50 you’re on the ledge, hanging on. My grip just slipped…my fingers sweaty.

But I’m still hanging on.

The world has become a more wonderful place, for I’ve ventured into the mySQL and PHP nightmarish world of code. That said, if this site looks whorish, half-melted or discombobulated, it’s just the code talkin’, not me.
